Luckily I had this dinner in mind prior to visiting the grocery store tonight. It's overwhelming when you've hit that point in your grocery routine where you need to stock up on - what seems to be - everything! And then you go to the store HUNGRY! Not a good plan...
I grabbed this idea from Everyday Paleo. I used purple cabbage instead of green and added this mixture to rice (which, with the paleo diet, you would not do).
2 Italian sausage
1/4 of a purple cabbage, cut up
1/3 of an onion, diced
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp caraway seeds
1/4 of a purple cabbage, cut up
1/3 of an onion, diced
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp caraway seeds
1. Take the casing off of the sausages, ground and brown the meat. Set aside.
2. Add a bit of margarine (the good kind!) to the same pan, throw in the onions. Cook for 5 min.
3. Add in the cabbage. Cook for 7 min.
4. Re-add the sausage, add spices and mix it all together.
Serve on rice, lettuce cups, or eat as is!
